Richard is having a bad year. He’s lost his job, lost his girlfriend, put on weight… and developed the ability to see the deaths of everyone around him.

Plagued by horrific premonitions, he decides to end it all, but there are old and powerful forces at work that have their own plans for his power. Pitched into a world of eldritch horror that lurks just beneath the surface of London’s civilised veneer, the only chance Richard has of finding peace is to unravel the mysteries of his own past.

WRITER

Tortured Life was the first comic book idea created by Neil Gibson. Originally planned to be a 12-issue series, Neil got carried away with the Twisted Dark franchise after writing the first issue and decided to let Dan Watters write the rest of the series.

This came with some serious structural changes – the most noticeable being that the story was shortened to 6 issues, and the plot was completely changed to include The Bloodyman, The Order, and The Garden.

Tortured Life was illustrated by long-time TPub collaborator Caspar Wijngaard with colours by Jan Wijngaard.

Caspar co-created Limbo (Image Comics) with Dan, as well as working on Angelic (Image Comics) with Simon Spurrier. He has also worked on the Assassin’s Creed and Dark Souls comics for Titan and also illustrates for IDW. He can be reached by Instagram or Twitter.

Jan has worked on most TPub titles currently out (Theatrics, Transdimensional, Twisted Dark, and The Traveller) as well as the comic Max Steel.
